I?ve found it surprisingly difficult to obtain this information from the literature/web, so any information would be gratefully received! Kind regards, Mark Harrison Mark E. Technically, of course, you are right in that such records on seed presence are needed. However, I am sure that many observers will not have recorded this and we don?t record peat swamp site either. Thus, in terms of assessing whether there are any peaks in the fruiting of certain peat-swamp species known to mast in other habitat types during Borneo masts, it is really more the timing of ?raw? fruiting (and flowering) spikes that I am interested in. Ideally, it would be good to have both sets of information. Best wishes, Mark Mark E. We (Uni Aberdeen, ETH & FRC) are interested in finding out how well this masting has been utilised for restoration work. I'm interested in compiling data on seed collection efforts throughout the region i.e. species being collected, ballpark figures on number of seeds collected and end use (i.e. restoration, enrichment, etc.). I'm also some figures on the size of the problem i.e. total area that needs to be restored/enriched. I have access to fairly good data on all of this for Sabah, and can probably get for Brunei - so am interested in hearing from people working elsewhere. Thanks Colin --- On Sat, 5/29/10, Mark Harrison wrote: From: Mark Harrison Subject: Re: [Mastwatch] Bornean masting events date query To: , "Mastwatch email list posting" Date: Saturday, May 29, 2010, 12:15 AM Dear Peter, ?
