A cool, misty morning, crisp air, a winding trail and magnificent trees stretching out beneath my feet: this is me. I grew up in the suburbs of Northern California, in Atherton and Portola Valley to be specific. I played almost every sport, loved running around outside, and went to an alternative middle school where we called our teachers by their first names and went camping twice a year. I am now about to be a Junior at Harvard, majoring in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. I also run for the Harvard Track team and am an active member of the Environmental Action Committee. While I don't have any definite plans for after college, I am thinking about continuing to conduct scientific research, so this course was an amazing opportunity to practice skills for such work.
