General notes: (about the organism that will not change over time)

  • -Very abundant. Present in almost every location with the exception of Mount Kinabalu.

-Light Green colour no matter what age - appears to have sharkfin like spines on the leaf stem, increasing in size with closeness to the stem. - Has a clearly defined circular shape with 'flat' edges that follow a circular shape. - The leaf segments are placed into groups - The divide between these groups run from the edge to the centre - The individual leaf segments within the group each have a small diagonal shape creating a serrated-looking edge - The individual leaf segments also create a zig-zag leaf surface if viewed from the edge
