- Stems have a closed 'U' shape.
Edges of leaf stem have orange colour. 'Large' spines along ridge of leaf stem. Spines are bent 'leaning' towards the trunk but pointing upwards from the stem. Leaves split along ridges in between veins. Leaves do not split all the way
