- These black, ridged termites have workers which are slightly larger than the soldiers. Soldiers have the classic nozzle above the mandibles.

Observations:
- This group of termites was observed relocating it's nest. Workers carried fungal balls in their mandibles, while soldiers served as escorts. (location: Karangas forest in Maliau Basin, microhabitat: along a log, date: 4 July 2010, obs code: Obs64)
