- Large moth. Hindwings particularly colorful--red with grayish margins. Thorax covered with large, velvety scales. Abdomen is brownish with the terminal being covered with large, velvety scales of a darker brown. Antennae pipe-like.

- Collected on the side of a building during the day while sleeping by Zach. Possible new record for Borneo. (microhabitat: Lowland rainforest, date: 29 June 2010, obs code: Obs40)
