Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known.

As the main page states I am a student of Ecology and Evolution at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am interested in field biology, natural history and exploration. My scientific interests are broad. I am particularly interested in the evolution, ecology and biogeography of rainforest communities, especially those of the Malay Archipeligo. Ever since I saw my first Nepenthes pitcher plant I have been captivated and drawn to biology as a science and a way of seeing the world. This has led me here to Borneo and I hope all over the rest of the world as well. It is impossible to be a biologist these days and not be a conservationist and I am no exception. The more I learn about the state of the natural world the more concerned I get and the more motivated I become to preserve it. I know there is still some adventure left in this world and I hope through field biology and careful conservation I can find it.
